Mike joined the volleyball staff as an assistant coach in 2021. Mike focuses his efforts on scouting opposition teams and obtaining, reviewing, and charting the opponents. He helps devise the offensive and defensive schemes in preparation for the match. Prior to joining the volleyball staff, Mike spent 46 years as a civil trial attorney focusing on the defense of physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases. Mike has a bachelors’ degree and J.D. degree from University of the Pacific. He was admitted to the California Bar in December 1975. One of his goals in life was to be a volleyball coach and Delta has given him that opportunity.
Mike and his wife Margie reside in Stockton. They have been married for 46 years and have two children and six grandchildren. Mike’s daughter is Molly Hummel, the head volleyball coach.
