Asuka Pheap joined the Delta College Sports Medicine staff in 2019. Originally born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, she moved to California in 2012 to pursue her education in athletic training.
Asuka graduated from the University of the Pacific with her Master of Arts degree in 2021, where she served as a graduate assistant for the Health, Exercise, and Sport Science department, teaching exercise physiology lab classes. In 2017, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at CSU Fresno, working with division 1 men’s basketball and track and field. In 2015, she completed her Associate of Arts degree in Kinesiology at Butte College, while competing for the women’s basketball team and completing the requirements for her sports medicine internship.
Prior to Delta College, Asuka served as the head athletic trainer at Edison High School for 3 years, providing medical care for 20 teams. She assisted the football team in winning SJAA back-to-back championships in 2018 and 2019.
Asuka and her husband Jamie currently reside in Stockton.
