Gasser Dominates Sac City hitters in 7-1 victory

Robert Gasser overcame some command issues to pitch out of several jams in route to his seventh victory on the season. Gasser (7-0) pitched around five walks in five innings, largely in part to his ten strikeouts and allowing just one hit. He also got defensive help from catcher Thomas Greely who threw out two Sacramento City base stealers and picked off another to end some threats. Noah Denoyer held the Panthers at bay with three innings of scoreless relief to preserve a 1-0 Delta College lead.

The Mustangs offense finally broke through with a six run eighth inning. Largely in part to an error, several walks and double by Taison Corio. Zack Mathis and Vinny Bologna also had rbi doubles in the game.

With the victory the #1 ranked Mustangs improve to 20-4 overall and 6-2 in the Big 8. The #3 ranked Panthers fall to 17-7 and 7-4 in conference play. The two teams conclude the series in Sacramento on Saturday at 1:00.
