#1 Mustangs complete sweep at #3 Sacramento City with 8-0 shutout   

Southpaw Clayton Westrope shook off some rust early in the game to turn in a solid performance. Westrope threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings improving his record to 4-0. He overcame three early walks to settle in a record five strikeouts on just three hits. The bullpen was solid again. Nick Dentoni took the mound for the first time this season and looked sharp with 1 1/3 scoreless. Jacob Standridge helped him out of a bases loaded jam in the seventh by striking out Kevin Saenz with the bases loaded. Freshman Gunner Mayer threw the final two innings recording two strikeouts on no hits.

Sophomore Vinny Bologna continued his torrid pace with three hits and his league leading ninth home run and 3 rbi. Anthony Lucchetti and Taison Corio had a pair of hits each including rbi doubles. In all the Mustangs collected ten hits on the day.

Delta improved to 7-2 in conference play and 21-4 overall. Sacramento City fell to 7-5 in Big 8 play and 17-8 overall. The Mustangs will take on #2 Sierra College (9-3 in Big 8, 21-5 overall) next week with game 1 on Tuesday at Delta at 2:30pm.
