While losing two golfers that reached the state championship season will hurt any team there is a ton of talent ready to make their marks on golf courses led by sophomore Justin Kiester who shot even par at the state finals last season. Freshman Seth Fuhrman made sure that he was a name to watch before the season even started as back in August, he won the men's golf club championship at Elkhorn Country Club and then started this season with a 15th place finish out of 100 at a two-day tournament in Lompoc. While the team this season is mostly freshmen it was sophomore Ty Salvador who led the way in their Big 8 Conference opener earlier this week with a 72 while Kiester was three shots behind him with a 75. Battling the elements, they will now be on the road for Big 8 Conference play for a while before they return back to Spanos on Wednesday March 20th.
