After just 2 meets the Mustangs sore to the top of the state rankings individually. Freshman Juwan Seales former Lincoln Highschool standout, ranks 1st in the state in the triple jump with a mark of 14.47m (PR). "I am happy that I am winning but not content with my marks," says Seales. He has aspirations of competing at the PAC 12 level and hopes to break the 50 foot barrier soon. Kenneth Gonzales opened up the season with a 3 meter PR in the hammer throw. This mark ranks him 2nd in state. " I'm hungry, I want to win. I am happy I am placing high but I know I have more in the tank," says Gonzales about his performance. He hopes to throw 52-53m next week at the Kim Duyst Invitational at Stanislaus State.
