Jim Fisher’s took over as head softball coach in 2009. Since his start as Head Coach, Delta has posted a 233-99 record. In 2011, Delta went 44-2, winning the competitive Big 8 conference championship and finishing runner-up at the State Tournament. All seven sophomores received scholarships to pursue their degrees at 4-year institutions. In 2009 and 2012, the Lady Mustangs finished in 2nd place in the Big 8 Conference. The 2014-2015 Delta teams finished their seasons tied for 5th place in state. In 2007, he served as head baseball coach. Previous to that, he spent seven years as an assistant baseball coach here at Delta College. 

Prior to Delta College, Fisher spent the 1998-99 school year at Bakersfield College as an infield instructor. Coach Fisher was also an assistant coach for his alma mater, Fresno State, from 1996-98.  During the summers, Fisher coached the Brewster Whitecaps of the Cape Cod Baseball League, Anchorage Bucs of the Alaska League and most recently, the Stockton Senators.

As a player, Fisher played baseball at Fresno State from 1994-95.  The 1995 team won the Western Athletic Conference championship.  Prior to Fresno State, Fisher played at Modesto Junior College (1993) and University of Washington (1992).  The 1992 University of Washington team won the Pac-10 North title.

Fisher earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies, Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Fresno State, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Sacramento State.

Fisher resides in Lodi with his wife Terry and their Jack Russell Jasper.
