It was a swell Tuesday for Delta College sophomore Amilya Thompson.

The Lincoln High product and current outside hitter for the Mustangs had 28 assists, 22 digs, six kills and two blocks in Delta’s 3-0 over Modesto Junior College by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-18 in Modesto.

On top of that, Thompson was named the California Community College Women’s Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Week.

Thompson’s teammate Kelly Markham had 14 kills, three blocks and four digs in Tuesday’s win, with Alanna Valdez adding 21 digs and one ace for Delta (17-6, 10-3 Big 8 Conference).
