Delta sophomore duo looking for success in volleyball playoffs

STOCKTON — Delta College's sophomore tandem of Angel Lambert and Angelique Stepanoff were eager to show off their skill sets in their final run through the postseason for the Mustangs.

They led the No. 7-seeded Mustangs to an opening-round victory over No. 10 De Anza in the California Community College Women's Volleyball NorCal Regional Championships held Tuesday at Marcopulos Gym.

The Mustangs defeated De Anza in five sets 25-18, 21-25, 25-19, 15-25, 15-2, and advanced to play at No. 2 Fresno City on Saturday. If the Mustangs (21-8) can upset Fresno City, they would advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2017 when they finished as runners-up.
