Season Preview - Volleyball
You could not have asked for a much better start to the season than the one the Mustangs have had as they are undefeated and ranked No. 1 in the state in the most recent CCCWVCA Top 25 rankings.

Not only are the Mustangs undefeated but they have lost just one set total in their first eight matches as they started the year winning their first seven matches all in straight sets including the Delta Classic semifinal matchup against previously undefeated Lassen.

Facing off against the defending state champions, Feather River, the Mustangs dropped the first set before winning the next three to capture the Delta Classic.

Picking up right where she left off last season Kiyah Irby, one of just two sophomores on the team, has led the attack averaging over four kills per set as she was named the Delta Classic MVP. Irby last season was the only freshmen on the All-State NorCal Team while also earning AVCA Second-Team All-American honors. She has also recently committed to the University of the Pacific.

Freshmen Emily Vickers and Caprisa Brock were also named to the all-tournament team. Also standing out early in the season is Naila Ia with a second-best 41 kills and sophomore Bella Cormack defensively at the net.

They are on the road for their next two matches including a match September 15th and 6:30pm in Santa Rosa. They return home to start a five-match home stand on Friday September 22nd for a 6:30 pm first serve against Cosumnes River.
