Coach Patrick Kelly retires after his nine seasons at Delta College

The Mustangs would like to recognize one of our coaches Patrick Kelly, he has chosen to retire after his 9th season with the Mustangs. During his eight seasons, the Mustangs have reached the Final Four 5 times and Elite 8 7 times. During his time at Delta, he has played a huge role in the development of our players but most all of our redshirt athletes. Coach Kelly also known as "PK" to many of the players brought extreme value to the Mustang staff during his time at Delta. His in game duties included assisting with coaching decisions, keeping extremely valuable charts, and monitoring the stats/official scoring. His post game speeches were often extremely memorable because of his ability to highlight the good in any game that the Mustangs would play, regardless of the outcome.

Coach Kelly's biggest influence would not just be teaching the game but teaching life to many Mustangs. His ability to help players understand the importance of being a great person and doing the right things all the time would turn out to be a huge improvement for many players. Under his supervision the Mustangs have moved on more than 35 redshirt athletes including 21 to Division 1 schools even some to the professional ranks. Coach Kelly's ever lasting optimism and relentless spirit will be missed in the Mustang Dugout. As Coach Kelly moves on to the golden years of his life we would like to thank you for the years of hard work for our players.
