Pat Kelly joined the Mustang Staff as an assistant coach in the Fall of 2011 and is entering his 9th season on Coach Peters' elite staff. He spent the previous five years as an assistant coach at St. Mary's High School in Stockton. During his time there he helped lead the Rams to four Section Final appearances and two consecutive Section Final Championships in 2010 and 2011. Pat graduated from the University of Colorado in 1974 where he earned four letters in Baseball and Basketball as a scholarship athlete. In 2002, Denver Regis Jesuit High School named Pat to their "All Regis Teams of All Times" in baseball and basketball. Pat married his wife Diane in 1986 and they are currently retired business owners in Tracy, CA.    They have two children: Ty Kelly (31) and Niki Kelly (26). Ty just completed his 11th year of professional baseball and reached the Major Leagues with the New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, and Philadelphia Phillies. He is a member of Team Israel and played in the World Baseball Classic in 2017 and will also be playing in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics next summer. He was originally selected in the 13th round by the Baltimore Orioles out of UC Davis while playing for Rex Peters (Reed’s twin brother). Daughter Niki attended USC and graduated in 3 ½ years with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Honors. She also has a Masters Degree from UC Irvine and is currently working in Los Angeles for NBC.

Pat works with our hitters in the batting cages, tabulates stats, creates nicknames, and works extensively with our Red Shirt Athletes in the batting cages during the season.  He also focuses on creating a very positive mental approach for our players and coaches.
