Les Anthony II started in 2011 as the Sprints Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. Since 2012 Les has helped the Mustangs develop a competitive and championship caliber group to compete in the Big 8 Conference, Northern California and the State. Since Les’s arrival the Mustangs have benefited from an increase in Big 8 Conference Qualifiers, Northern California Qualifiers, and CCCAA State Meet Qualifiers in the sprints and relays. In 2013 Les lead the Women’s 4x400m relay team to 2nd place finish in CCCAA Northern California Championships, berth to the CCCAA State Meet and individual 400m Qualifier to the State Meet. In 2013 the Women’s 4x400m relay team broke the school record with a time of 3:52.66, the previous record stool for 17 years prior of the record. 

Before Delta College Les was the Co-Head Track and Field Coach for Woodland High School from 2007-2011 and Galt High School’s Track and Field program in 2012. While at Woodland Les and his staff helped the Woodland Wolves win 4 straight Tri County Conference Championships at the Varsity Girls and Boys level including 4 straight at the JV Girls level (2008-2011) and 3 straight in the JV Boys level (2008-2010). During his tenure Woodland also maintained a 24-1 TCC dual meet record. Some of his accomplishments during his tenure at WHS and GHS includes Sacramento Meet of Champions Open Champion, Sac Joaquin Section D2 Champion, Sac Joaquin Section D4 Champion, 1 Arcadia Invitational Seeded Relay Champion, 2nd Place Rio Linda Invitational Girls Team Champion, 101 Sac Joaquin Section Divisional Meet Qualifiers, 44 Sac Joaquin Section Track and Field Master’s Qualifiers, 1 CIF Track and Field State Meet Qualifier. Anthony has also trained youth athletes at the USATF level. In 2009 Les created the Youth Club “First Strike Club” based in Woodland and Sacramento. As the Head Coach and Director the club produced 2 USATF Region 14 Champions, 18 USATF National Junior Olympic Championship Qualifiers in a 4 year period. 

Les earned his degree from California State University of Stanislaus in Kinesiology. He is also a USATF Certified Official, USATF Level 1 Certified Coach, and USATF Level 2 Certified Jumps, USATF Level 2 Certified Combined Events Coach. Les has also attended the World Famous Ironwood Throws Development Camp. 

Les was a 3 sport lettermen in Football, Track and Field, Basketball at the High School level and is a native of Sacramento, California.
