Irons back to work
After several years of not being able to face another school's the Mustangs men's golf team will tee things up on Wednesday at Whitney Oaks in Rocklin as they take on Sierra, Napa, Modesto, and Folsom Lake College.
"We are excited to finally have some competition," said head coach Tony Troncale as he mentioned how during the covid crisis a lot of the guys could still go out and play golf but it was the competition that was still missing. How they react to that competition will play a part in how successful this season goes for the Mustangs. "Some of these guys have had to wait three years and they finally get a chance to compete," said Troncale about his roster that has no sophomores. Expected to lead the way is Liam Tacla but he expects things to change during the season with nine guys battling to be in the top six spots. The Mustangs will play twice this season in Stockton as they will play at Stockton Golf and Country Club on February 22nd and then at The Reserve at Spanos Park on March 14th.
