It's always nice when you return your leading player from the season before and that's the case for the men's golf team as they get set to start their 2022 season.

 

"Tacla was our number one player last year and I'm expecting big things from him," said head coach Tony Troncale. Liam Tacla was an All-Conference honoree last season and is one of three sophomores back from last season. Tristan Gonzalez and Cameron Robles also return and have improved from last season.

 

"With our three returning players and some new players that are pretty good, I'm expecting it to be a good season for us." Those new players include Austin Thao, Alberto Garibaldi, and Ty Salvador.

 

"This year's team is kind of the team I like to have. Our number one through six there's not a big difference from top to bottom and I think we are solid the whole way through," said Troncale.

 

During the preseason they finished in eighth place at the PT Conception Open. They will have a few weeks to prepare for their first Big 8 Conference meet on February 22nd.
