Season Preview
Last season the Mustangs track and field team had 17 athletes qualify for the state championship including Josh Marlin who won the state title in the 400 hurdles and is back to lead the way this season.

"We have high expectations for this season but at the same time we have a lot of incoming freshmen that are going to contribute as well," said coach Les Anthony. "We let our athletes know from the very beginning that we expect a high standard from them."

"I think on the men's side we are really strong in the sprints, hurdles, and jumps. We don't really have any weaknesses."

Besides Marlin, the men's side also returns Jaxen North, Ethan DeWitt, Aeden Fernandez, and Gabe Martinez from state championship qualifying seasons last year.

On the women's side, they also return multiple state championship qualifiers including Naomi Gonzalez, Rebecca Hampton, Erielle De La Cruz, and Miekayla Surnip.

"The women's team has good depth and should be strong in the throws, jumps, and hurdles," said Anthony.

This season will get underway on Friday, February 10th with the Jim Lithicum Invitational at De Anza College.
