Going from enjoying the sand at the beach over the summer to now looking to avoid the sand traps out on the course the 2023 women's golf season is underway with the Mustangs recently finished up competition in their first Big 8 Conference match of the season.

 

Following a high school career at Liberty Ranch of Galt that saw her earn several honors including all-league Genevieve Akers has wasted no time in impressing in college with the Mustangs. Finishing in second place overall at the Big 8 Conference match at Elkhorn she shot a two over 75 as the Mustangs finished in fifth place.

 

Rounding out the top four for the Mustangs was sophomore Jill Morton with an 87, sophomore Maddy Luepke with a 102, and freshmen Emma Toale with a 103. Two other freshmen round out the roster with Emalyne Lundbom and Jordan Santos.

 

Lundbom comes to Delta from Manteca High School where she also competed in track and field while also serving as the senior class president.

 

They will be back in action on Thursday September 14th for their second Big 8 Conference match which will take place at Ridge Creek.
