Women's Water Polo expectations are High!
Coming off a 2021 season that saw the Mustangs' women's water polo team go 23-6 and reach the Final Four the expectations are just as high if not higher this season as they finally get their season underway this afternoon.

"Our expectations are always Final Four," said head coach Nathon Varosh as they prepared for the upcoming season that will see them make multiple trips to Southern California and play an even tougher schedule than last season. "We are not as deep as we were last season, but we are way more talented."

Limited with opportunities to travel last season like in years past that won't be the case this season. "When we got there (Final Four) last season we just weren't prepared. We were talented enough but not experienced enough. They are just so fueled by that experience last year, and they have that desire to get back there and have another shot at it."

While inexperience was a factor last season that should be less of a factor this season as multiple players have put off going to play elsewhere to have one more chance at winning a state title with the Mustangs.

"We have four girls that could have transferred elsewhere to play but chose to stay here which is pretty exciting." Some of those key returners include Sophia Schwartz, Olivia Taylor, and Madelyn Halva as the trio scored seven of their eight goals during the NorCal championship game.

After a tournament this weekend at West Valley and next weekend at Mt. San Antonio College the Mustangs will play their home opener on Wednesday, September 28th at 3:30 pm.

All home games this season will have free admission.
