Season Preview - Women's Water Polo
It's a bit of a later start to the season for the Mustangs compared to years past but it was all a part of the plan that head coach Nathan Varosh has for his side that has many new faces after winning 21 games and finishing fourth in the state last year.

"We are very athletically gifted this year but just not a lot of experience," said Varosh about his team that lost their top seven goal scorers from last season. One of those back is Kennedy Brubaker after 15 goals last season and then a swim season that saw her finish in the top eight in the state in two different events.

Alana Lillie and Ashley Van Diggelen return to guard the cage with Lillie expected to start. "Alana Lillie is a division one caliber goalie, an absolute stud, and that's a good backbone to have defensively for us," said Varosh.

"I'm excited for the season. We are going to have some growing pains through the middle of the year, but we will figure it out and be right there to fight for a championship at the end of the season."

Esmeralda De La Torre and Jenna Bigelow are two of the many freshmen expected to contribute heavily to the Mustangs success this season. The first sprint for the season will be Wednesday September 13th as the Mustangs take on Modesto Junior College at 5:00 pm as the men's and women's team play at home in a doubleheader.
