Delta Mustang Cross Country capture Big 8 Conference Title
Delta College women's cross country captured the conference title for the first time in over 20 years Friday at American River college. The team was led by former Lodi high school cross country athlete, Yasmin Melendrez. Yasmin became the Big 8 conference champion with a PR of 18:58 beating the 2nd place finisher Audrey Garcia of American River by 42 seconds (19:41). 4 of our girls made all conference with smashing PRs on this course.

Delta Cross Country Men Finish 2nd led by Big 8 conference champion
Marco Perez, former East Union standout, blows away his competitors away and claims the Big 8 conference championship title! With 26 American River athletes registered, Marco fought through and made his move a mile and a half to go to separate himself and claim the victory. Marco finished 6 seconds in front of American River's 2nd place finisher with a time of 20:09 in the men's 4 mile. Men were able to capture a second place finish as a team behind American River college.
