Softball
The regular season has come to an end and the postseason will get underway on Friday afternoon with a best-of-three series at Modesto Junior College. Going 20-14 during the regular season the Mustangs averaged over six runs a game this season as seven different players drove in at least 16 runs. Kennedy Dingman and Tara Fornaciari led the way with 21 runs batted in each while Hailey Kobler was right behind them driving in 20 runs.
Baseball
With the 3C2A state playoffs starting on Friday the Mustangs will be hitting the road for a best-of-three series at Chabot. Going 5-5 over the final month of the regular season the Mustangs finished with a 12-12 record in Big 8 Conference play and a 20-20 record overall on the season. Averaging over seven runs a game this season they had four players drive in over 30 runs led by Samuel Rivas who drove in 34 runs and was tied for the team lead with eight home runs. Sutter Moss also ended the regular season with eight home runs while driving in 28 runs.
Women's Wrestling
It was a season for the history books for the program as it ended with a first ever state champion as Samira Mason won the 3C2A 110 state championship and was also named the most outstanding wrestler of the tournament. Two other Mustangs finished in second place as Isabel Zepeda and Alejandra Ochoa had seasons that saw them also earn All-American honors.
Track and Field
The end of April for most sports means the end of the regular season and that saw the Mustangs men's and women's team both finish in second place at the Big 8 Conference Championships. Multiple athletes took him Big 8 championships including Ashonti Brown who continues to shatter records in the 100- and 400-meter hurdles. Jake Todden was also a multiple champion as he captured first in the shot put and hammer. Adonis Siga and the men's 4x400m relay team also finished in first. The postseason continues on Friday afternoon with the start of the NorCal Championships with an eye on qualifying for the state championships later this month.
Beach Volleyball
While the season has yet to end it's already been a widely successful one for the Mustangs as they went 15-9 and had two pairs qualify for the NorCal Pairs Championship tournament this weekend. Hadlee Gray and Kyra Saiers qualified as the number ten seed while Bella Cormack and Catherine Frias enter as the 13 seed for the tournament that starts on Friday morning at Cosumnes River College.
Men's Golf
A second-place finish is how the Mustangs ended the Big 8 Conference season led by Jakob Green who tied for MVP of the conference. In their final Big 8 Conference match of the season the Mustangs won by 11 shots and combined for their lowest score as a team of the season as all five of their counting scores were 77 or better. Seth Fuhrman and Jake Hyland also received honors as they were both named to the All-Conference team. They will now head to Half Moon Bay for the regionals starting this weekend.
Swimming
A busy four days at the 3C2A state championships got underway on Wednesday and the Mustangs have multiple student athletes competing for state honors. Those competing for a state championship this weekend includes Lauryn Lucero, Ally Ratto, Jenna Bigelow, Kylie Richardson, Shelby Richardson, and Moriah Schmierer with many qualifying in multiple events. On the men's side both Alex Tudbury and Jesse Reidt placed in their events at the Big 8 Championship.
