Sophomore Kevin Kyle threw seven solid innings allowing just one unearned run on five hits while striking out eleven. The eleven strikeouts gives him the Big 8 lead with 95 on the season. The Hawks made it interesting in the ninth as the scored three times and sent the tying run to the plate before Jacob Standridge came in to collect the final two outs for the save.

Zack Mathis was 2-4 with three rbi including a solo home run in the eighth. Vinny Bologna had two hits and an rbi, and Jimmy McCleneghan had two rbi's. In all the Mustangs collected ten hits and took advantage of six Hawks errors.

Delta improves to 15-4 in conference play and 29-6 overall. The Hawks fall to 9-10 in conference and 21-13 overall. The two teams will meet again in Stockton on Thursday at 2:30.
