The 2012-13 season will mark Dominique Bukasa’s first year as an Assistant Coach at Delta College. He joins Coach Ressa's staff after spending the 2011-2012 season as the Head Coach of Lassen College. Prior to Lassen College he was an NCAA Division I Assistant Coach at Sacramento State University from 2008 to 2011 for former Delta College and Junior College Hall of Fame Coach Brian Katz. His duties with the Hornets included recruiting, scouting, player development, academic mentor and game scheduling.

Bukasa, who has over 10 years of coaching experience, worked as an Assistant Coach for Ed Madec from 2005-2008 at the College of Siskiyous and Fresno City College. At the College of Siskiyous he helped coach the Eagles to a 27-5 record and a No. 1 ranking in the state for nine consecutive weeks in the 2005-06 season. That marked the first time in school history that the College of Siskiyous had received the top ranking in the State. The next two years at Fresno City College he was part of the coaching staff that won the 2007 California Community College State Tournament Championship, back-to-back Central Valley Conference titles and State Final 8 appearances with a 62-16 combined record.

After playing three years at Sonoma State (1997-00), where he was part of a nationally-ranked team that set the school record for victories in 1998-99, Bukasa had a successful career overseas. He played four years of professional basketball in Belgium (2000-01, 2002-04) and France (2001-02), where he was a four-time all-league selection, and was part of a 2nd Division national championship winning team. During his time overseas, he also coached under-16 and under-12 club teams from 2000-04.

From 2001, he has been involved with the 1% Club, a summer and off-season program that trains elite high school and collegiate basketball players. Many of the players he helped train with the 1% Club went on to sign Div. I scholarships and Professional Contracts, including Angelo Tsagarakis (Oregon State /Pro in France) and Josh Akognon (Washington State/Cal State Fullerton/ China, Dallas Mavericks).

Bukasa graduated from Sonoma State in 1999 with a degree in history, and a minor in political science. He graduated in July of 2008 with a Master’s degree in Kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University.
