The lady mustangs wrestled in the 2nd Annual Cerritos Open. There were 19 teams from three levels, including the NAIA, National Wrestling Coaches Association (Club Teams), and California Junior Colleges.

3 Mustangs attended the event, and all of them placed in the top eight. Isabel Zepeda was our top finisher, going 3 - 1 and taking 2nd. She started the day by pinning the first seed. She wrestled an athlete from Menlo (NAIA) in the finals, losing a hard-fought match. Taking 3rd was Samira Mason, who lost a tough match in the first round and then reeled off three straight wins. She pinned wrestler UNLV's club team in the third-place match. Valentia Ortega finished in the top eight, and as a team, we finished 8th. We will be competing this weekend at Sacramento State.
