The start of the 2025 season will mark Joshua Bradley’s 12th season as head coach of the Delta College men’s soccer team.The 2024 season was another record setting journey for the Mustangs. With a regular season record of 13-6-3, the team were crowned Big 8 Conference Champions on the final day of competition for the 2nd time in Bradley’s stay with the program. 

The 2023-2021 seasons proved challenging for the program, trying to rebound after COVID. but the team's resiliency and identity proved that the program would always strive for success. In 2019 the Mustangs finished the season with a record of 13-7-4, ranked 8th in Northern California, 14th in the state, and 14th in the nation. This was the first season in school history that the Mustangs competed in the NorCal Regional Final in the elite 8. The Mustangs completed the 2018 season winning the Big 8 conference for the first time in program history, ranked 5th in Nor Cal and 8th in the state, boasting a final record of 14-2-4, and finished in the top 20 of the nation. 

 

Before joining the Delta College soccer program, Bradley was the volunteer Director of Operations for Women’s Soccer at UC Berkeley, gaining invaluable Division One experience. Prior to Cal, Bradley coached Benicia High School 2006-2012, winning 6 straight league championships in 7 years, 5 final Northern California State Championship appearances in 6 years, with a record of 125-19-18. He led Benicia High to a first ever CIF section championship in 2009 and another in 2011. The Solano County Athletic Association awarded Bradley the Coach of the Year in 2009, with a season record of 24-0-1, and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) awarded him the California State High School Coach of the Year in 2010.

 

Bradley played 4 years of collegiate soccer at Humboldt State University winning the NCAC for the first time in program history. He was awarded 1st team All-League by the NCAC in 1994, and in 2004 was inducted into the Humboldt State Hall of Fame. As his collegiate career came to a close, he moved to Germany to play professionally. Bradley later moved to Australia, where he continued his soccer- playing journey, while studying and teaching at the University of New South Wales, earning a Master’s Degree in Marine Science . Recently, Bradley completed his master’s degree in Exercise Science, examining the effects of carbohydrates and protein on soccer player performance.
